First woman to head the largest academic exchange organisation in the world.
Bonn, 30 July 2010. Professor Dr. Dr. Sabine Kunst is to be the new President of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD). When she assumes office on the 1st July 2010, she will be the first woman to head the DAAD. The representatives of the 232 DAAD member universities and 123 member student bodies voted Sabine Kunst the organisation’s new President by a large majority at their Members’ Meeting in Bonn. Fifty-five-year-old Prof. Kunst succeeds Professor Stefan Hormuth, who died in February. |

DAAD to have New Secretary-General |

On 1 October 2010, Dr. Dorothea Rüland will succeed Dr. Christian Bode as the DAAD’s Secretary-General.
Bonn, 23 March 2010. Dr. Dorothea Rüland, currently director of the Center for International Cooperation at Freie Universität Berlin, will assume her post as the new Secretary-General of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) in Bonn on 1 October 2010. DAAD Vice President Prof. Dr. Max Huber made the announcement after findings commission consultations in Berlin, which were attended by both DAAD board members and representatives of Germany’s federal ministries for foreign affairs, education and research, and economic cooperation.

Bonn, 10 February 2010. International Students can get detailed information about study and research opportunities in Germany on a new website now: recently the DAAD expanded its Internet services with the launch of www.study-in.de. Designed as a modern and user-friendly website, it has a large selection of offers in German and English. It features an arsenal of Web 2.0 tools, such as an interactive map of Germany in which users can virtually "travel" to Berlin, a search engine for finding the right master’s degree programme and the DAADblog where foreign students can post their impressions and experiences in Germany.

Bonn, 8 July 2010. On the occasion of the DAAD Network Conference, the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) and the German Rectors’ Conference (HRK) presented the "National Code of Conduct on Foreign Students at German Universities" in Bonn on the 8 July.
