The Goethe Institut is not only located in Bangkok , but has Institutes in 77 countries worldwide. Its main objective is to promote German language and culture abroad and to support cultural exchange. Its website features texts, materials and links on German culture and society as well as study materials and links for learners and teachers of the German language.

There are lots of opportunities to learn German in Germany, of course. Besides 16 Goethe Institutes and eight Carl Duisberg Centres there are lots of public and private language schools, some of which are listed on the sites above. The second site is in German only, but the institutes listed have English versions of their webpages. If you are planning for a longer stay in Germany, you might be interested in attending a so-called "Volkshochschule" (Community College). Volkshochschulen can be found everywhere in the country and offer Courses in German as a Foreign Language at very reasonable rates.
